4H Fishing Event

Camp Josh recently hosted a special fishing event coordinated and planned by Ontonagon County 4-H, with participation from representatives of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Two USFWS employees joined the event to share their knowledge about sea lamprey and the important work being done to control their populations throughout the Great Lakes region. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about this invasive species, the impact sea lamprey can have on native fish populations, and the methods used to help protect the Great Lakes and local waterways. Events like this are a great example of what Camp Josh is all about: bringing people together through outdoor recreation, education, and meaningful experiences in nature.

A big thank you to Ontonagon County 4-H for coordinating the event and to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service representatives for sharing their time and knowledge with local youth at Camp Josh.
