Camp Josh was founded in 2000 to honor the memory of Josh Bader, a young man whose love for the outdoors inspired the creation of a place where individuals of all abilities can experience hunting, fishing, and nature. Located on 40 beautiful acres along the Cranberry River in Ontonagon County, Camp Josh continues to create opportunities for adventure, friendship, and unforgettable memories. The camp also proudly honors the legacy of Doug Filppula, whose passion for the outdoors and dedication to youth continue to support Camp Josh through fundraising and scholarships.
Camp Josh is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates entirely on a volunteer basis, with no paid staff.
What We Do
From fishing days and outdoor adventures to special gatherings and educational experiences, Camp Josh hosts a variety of outings throughout the year.
Each event is designed to provide a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable outdoor experience for participants of all abilities and walks of life while fostering friendships and a love for nature.

The Fishing Pond at Camp Josh. We restock our pond every year, the Keweenaw Bay tribe donates rainbow trout from their Pequaming hatchery and The Watersmeet trout hatchery also donates rainbow trout to our pond.
