SCI Donates Track Chair
Tony and Joe, shown on the far left, along with SCI, donated an Action Trackchair to Camp Josh during a May event. This ultimate all-terrain wheelchair offers the campers at Camp Josh significantly more freedom and mobility. The generous donation was made during a visit from the GOISD, and camper Joe was eager to assist and take the chair for a test drive. Joe was able to roam freely across the grounds, a feat he couldn't previously accomplish as his regular wheelchair would get stuck, requiring a crew's assistance to extricate it. The joy on Joe's face was unmistakable when he first set off in the chair. Venturing off the asphalt, Joe declared, "Now this is living!" After exploring the grounds, Joe returned to express his gratitude to the board members, saying, "Thank you very much; I am very honored to be the first to drive the chair." Indeed, Joe was having an excellent week; just the day before, he celebrated his 16th birthday and had received his driver's license, which he proudly displayed on a lanyard around his neck.
